Janosch Sinn
Janosch Sinn is first and foremost a collector of obscure and everyday objects; secondly, he uses his collection to create immersive, room-filling installations; and ultimately, he blends everything together through storytelling and worldbuilding to form imaginative fictional worlds. Thus, his works function as portals to alternative realities centered on themes from the realms of fantasy, science fiction, mythology, and history. A central concern for Janosch Sinn is the deconstruction of traditional, heteronormative, and patriarchal visual languages. He deliberately sets these within queer aesthetics and narratives, embraces kitsch and camp, and plays with the boundaries of social norms and gender stereotypes.
