Anna Zachariades
Anna Zachariades often works with familiar symbols that carry desire, personal and collective memory, and traces of ideology. The artist reuses and distorts these codes and images until they begin to shift, exposing other possible readings. Her work moves between sculpture, installation, and conceptual approaches, using processes such as casting, glassblowing, and carving in response to what each medium requires. Rather than using materials as passive carriers of ideas, Zachariades treats them as active elements that contribute to the narrative.
