Eileen Helm
“My artistic practice lies primarily between painting and intaglio printing. Both are equally important to me. One influences the other. I often start with a clear visual idea based on a personal object or a memory. These are often everyday kitchen objects or ubiquitous emotions that stay with me for a long time and with which I resonate. Starting from fragments of my personal archive, a strong abstraction often emerges. The interplay of colours and forms becomes more important in the process than the actual starting point. I begin to react and observe. In the best case, a strong connection develops between me and the image or the print...”
